  3. Leonardo Da Vinci • Birthplace: Vinci, Italy • Born: April 15, 1452 • Death place: Amboise, France • Died: May 2, 1519 • Cause of death: no one knows • Leonardo and a guy named Salami got together when the boys were 10 and were together for 26 years

  4. What did Leonardo Da Vinci do? • Leonardo Da Vinci was an architect and a scientist. • He was a musician, he played the lyre. A lyre is a stringed instrument in the harp family. • As an engineer he made things like clocks. • He invented a calculator • Leonardo also sketched the 1st: parachute, helicopter, aeroplane, tank, repeating rifle, swinging bridge, paddle boat, and motor car. • Leonard also designed machines for war.

Facts • It took Leonardo about 10 years to paint the Mona Lisa’s lips. • Leonardo invented the bicycle about 300 years before it appeared on the road. • He would wear pink to make his complexion look fresh. • Leonardo invented scissors. • Leonardo was also a sculptor, costume designer, mathematician and botanist. ( A botanist is someone who specializes in the study of plants.)
