GMLOB Standards and a Case Study of State Adoption of Data Standards

  • Grants streamlining demands standardization of business processes, technologies, and data elements throughout the grants enterprise.
  • Adopting standards decreases data redundancy, condenses stovepipes, and reduces duplicative work.
  • As the GMLOB moves forward, development of these standards will become more acute.
  • States have had significant successes in standards development.

Objective of the paper:

  • Explore the need for and development of grants management standards;
  • Demonstrate how they are being applied today; and
  • Explore how they might be created and implemented in the future.
