Exchange programs
Exchange Programs

  • Ewha and Sookmyung Women’s Universities, Seoul, South Korea

    Both Ewha and Sookmyung offer summer school opportunities for both men and women to study Korea more in depth. Courses are offered in a variety of categories (history, art, literature, economics, medicine, etc.). Cornell-approved students do not pay tuition for either program, but are responsible for airfare, visa, and (in some cases) accommodation costs.

  • Exchange Program in Northern Ireland

    Students may apply for a semester or year-long exchange with one of these Northern Irish Universities through the Irish-American Scholars Program. Students may take classes in business, marketing, computing, education, performing arts, communication and Irish studies.

Other Opportunities

  • Gilman Scholarship

    • The Gilman Scholarship Program offers awards for undergraduate study abroad. This scholarship provides awards for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study abroad programs worldwide.

    • Average award is $4,000.

    • Applications for study in Fall 2013 open mid-January and are due March 5, 2013.

  • Critical Language Scholarship

    • The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program offers fully-funded summer language institutes for U.S. university students and is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.

    • Students of diverse disciplines and majors are encouraged to apply.

    • Participants are expected to continue their language study beyond the scholarship period, and later apply their critical language skills in their future professional careers.
