Challenges and Strategies in Social Mobilization and CBO Formation in Mannar’s NEP-WASH Project
This report highlights the barriers to effective social mobilization and the formation of Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) under the NEP-WASH project in Mannar, focusing on the North and East provinces. Key issues include poor coordination, differing priorities, and the impact of prolonged civil conflict. The communities face significant challenges such as displacement, damaged infrastructure, and dependency. Strategies for overcoming these barriers are discussed, emphasizing the need for improved communication, participatory approaches, and addressing community mental health.
