  3. Barriers impeding Social mobilization & WUA [CBO] formation * Poor/ No focus [concentration] & loss of diligence * Poor/ No coordination among individuals/ groups/ as community * Different priorities * Conflict of interest as individual, small groups & community * Dependency syndrome

  4. Barriers impeding Social mobilization cont.. * Inactive/ weak existing CBOs, formed for short term benefits * Expectation of immediate and individual benefits * No/less participatory approach practiced previously

Looking back to Village (sub project) profile • Severely affected by more than three decades of prolonged civil conflict • Access to the communities was limited due to the presence of areas with buried land mines/ fear of land mines & roads had been taken over by the jungle tide by after years of abandonment. • Access to day to day service requirements, facilities and sources of input supply were serious challenge.

Looking back to Village profile.. cont… • The houses were damaged due to the conflict • The most of the villagers had been evacuated or displaced during the conflict • Exhaustion due to numerous displacements • The minds of the villagers were not peaceful even after temporary settling in their village • - mental depression due to • -Separation of families • -Lost of sibs & relations • -No permanent income • -Living in temporary huts
