National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) “Instructional programs from Pre-K through grade 12 should enable all students to— • communicate their mathematical thinking coherently and clearly to peers, teachers, and others; • organize and consolidate their mathematical thinking through communication; • analyze and evaluate the mathematical thinking and strategies of others; • use the language of mathematics to express mathematical ideas precisely. “

  13. Playing PIG • The goal of the game is to be the first player to reach 100. • On your turn, roll the dice as many times as you would like, mentally keeping a running total of the sum. When you decide to stop rolling, record your total for that turn and add it to the total from any previous turns. • If a 1 comes up on one of the dice, your turn is over and you score 0 points for that round. If you roll a 1 on both dice, you lose your turn and ALL points.
