Current recovery • 39 local government areas activated for Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DFRA) • Personal Assistance: • Community Recovery Referral and Information Centres – Cloncurry and Townsville • Pop-up and outreach visits undertaken in impacted areas • Personal Hardship Assistance Scheme - $32M assisting more than 116,000 people • More than 66,000 calls to Community Recovery Hotline • Psychological First Aid has been provided for more than 63,000 people state-wide • Grants: • Primary producer – approved 1142 grants totalling $65.1M • Small business/not-for-profit organisation – approved 515 grants totalling $6.6M • As at 12 noon Friday 7 June 2019

Ongoing recovery • Identify local and regional priorities and links to available funding • Finalise State Recovery Plan • DRFA support for counter disaster operations and reconstruction of essential public assets continues through damage estimates and project approval to program delivery and acquittal

  4. DRFA Cat C/D Recovery Package - $242M • Approved by Commonwealth and Queensland governments

  5. Flood warning infrastructure • QRA is working closely with councils on a catchment-based approach • Some councils have secured funding under Natural Disaster Resilience Program (NDRP) and/or Local Government Grants and Subsidies Program (LGGSP) • QRA will continue working with councils, Bureau of Meteorology and other asset owners to ensure optimal distribution of assets across the network to increase situational awareness • DRFA Category D ($3.5M) funding secured for a flood mapping and warning program

Other funding and assistance • North Qld Livestock Industry Recovery Agency • Grants for restocking, replanting and on-farm infrastructure • Up to $400,000 (matched by a 50 percent co-contribution) • Rural Financial Counselling • Provides free, confidential and impartial rural financial counselling to primary producers • Works for Queensland program • Job-creating maintenance and minor infrastructure projects relating to assets owned or controlled by Council • Each council receives base allocation of $1 million • Building our Regions • Targeted regional infrastructure program for local government projects • Provides funding for critical infrastructure that meet the specific needs of regional communities and supports economic development, including generating jobs, in regional areas of the Queensland

Other funding and assistance • Local Government Grants and Subsidies Program • Provides grants to local governments to assist with priority infrastructure improvements, essential to the needs of local communities • Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme • Provides funding to local governments for transport related initiatives which support state government objectives • Premier’s Outback Tourism Events Program • Funding from $1000 to $100,000 per event, may provide up to 50 percent of overall event costs • Round 2 closes 15 July 2019 • Mentoring for Growth (M4G) – Mentoring for Recovery • Offers businesses access to volunteer business experts • Provides insights, options and suggestions relating to challenges and opportunities experienced by disaster • Gambling Community Benefit Fund • Grants up to $35k for not-for-profit groups to enhance capacity to provide services, leisure activities and opportunities • Priority 1 - Applications submitted by groups directly impacted by DRFA event in last 2 years • Round 101 closed 31 May 2019
