GENERAL INFORMATION • What is our aim? • To develop and promote more karate and tournament opportunities for our development athletes to prepare for them the national elite events . • To be able to identify talent at an early stage • To promote mass participation at National level. • The details are as follows: • Date: 29- 30 August 2014 • Time: 29 August 2014 – 17h00- 20h00- WEIGH IN/ STUDENT REGISTRATION– COMPULSORY- no exceptions !!! • Referee’s Course / Table Officials Course 30 August 2014 –TOURNAMENT – starts at 08h00 till late. • Venue: Tongaat Sport Complex, Durban – KZN • Participation Fee: R100.00 per individual category, R150.00 per team event • Spectators: R20.00 under 18 years/ Children and R30.00 Adults • Closing date for entries: 17 August 2014 @ 16h00 • Entry fees must be deposited into KSA account- BY PROVINCES. One payment for full provincial entry • In the event of excessive entries – KSA has the right to add an additional competition day or night. TBA • Who will be eligible to participate? • 1. All top 4 athletes per development division selected by provinces • 2. From White to Purple Belts(including Shotokan Red Belts). NO BROWN BELT AND BLACK BELT ATHLETES ALLOWED. The event WILL INCLUDE athletes living with disabilities • Closing date for entries: 17 August 2014 @ 16h00 • Entries have to be entered by Provinces. A hard copy must be e-mailed to the Championship Director Sensei Leonardo Ciutto e-mail: LCiutto@finlam.co.za before the closing date. PLUS PROOF OF PAYMENT • Please copy alidawel@absa.co.za and financial@goodersons.co.za on e- mail aswell • Age of athletes will be calculated as the age on 05 November 2014 • Weigh-in: will be done and athletes found to be outside their weight category will be disqualified. • All athletes must be medically fit before they can be allowed to participate. • This is an Official National Event and only registered members from the affiliated provinces may enter.

  3. GENERAL CHAMPIONSHIP RULES • Athletes take part at their own risk. No claim may be made against KSA – WKF or any of the officials officiating on the day of the championship. • No late entries will be accepted, provinces must confirm with the Tournament Director prior the closing date to ensure that entries has been received. • It is the responsibility of every Provincial Coach to explain the conditions/ rules to each athlete and or parent before entering the championship. • Any athlete entered in an incorrect age or weight will be disqualified. Coaches and Team Managers must ensure that correct information is submitted. THUS THE WEIGH IN AND REGISTATION IS VITAL. • Any athlete not reporting to his/her floor after 3-call out will be disqualified. • WKF rules will apply during the championship. • Coaches: • Only the appointed coaches from each provinces may coach an athlete from his/ her province. • Only coaches wearing their full provincial tracksuit will be allowed to coach. Those wearing only tracksuit top or trouser/ Protea track suit wont be allowed on the floor. • WKF rules on coaching must be strictly adhered to and non compliance to the rule and regulation disciplinary steps may be taken. • Team Managers: • Team Managers must wear their official Provincial Attire (Navy blue blazer, white shirt, tie, gray pants, black shoes & socks) • Team Managers are not allowed in competition area

  4. GENERAL CHAMPIONSHIP RULES • Referees and Judges: • All officials must be dressed appropriately as per WKF rules, including table officials. • ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: • It is requested that all athletes must bring along the following: • Consent letter from parent/ Guardian Indemnity form
