Title II is a federal mandate

Sections 205 through 208 of the Title II of the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) call for accountability for programs that prepare teachers

HEA was signed in 1998; legislation was reauthorized in 2008

Programs and states have been collecting and reporting for more than 10 years now

IHE reports to the State in April

States report to the US Department of Education in October

Secretary’s Report published the following April

  • Phase I: Program Completer and Enrolled Data Collection (individual-level data)
    • Evaluation Systems (ES) opened the website in September 2011
    • ES website will remain open until April 30, 2012
  • Phase II: Institutional and Program Report Card (IPRC) (aggregate data)
    • IPRC developed by Westat
    • Website will open in February 2012 and will close on April 30, 2012
