  1. How to Stop Tinnitus, That Constant Ringing in the Ears A change or disturbance in the blood flow in the blood vessels near the ear is supposed to be a cause for pulsatile tinnitus. The large arteries and veins around the neck and smaller ones in the ear are the blood vessels that undergo alteration in flow due to various reasons. During a strenuous exercise there is increased blood flow which makes sound and disturbance in arteries. The flow of blood becomes turbulent due to atherosclerosis, a condition in which there is constriction and hardening of arteries. The other cause of this disorder is the benign intracranial hypertension, a condition usually with headache and visual disturbance. There are various types of sounds that one can hear while suffering with tinnitus. There is a type called pulsatile tinnitus or rhythmical tinnitus. Here you will listen to sound in multiples of your pulses. It can be low pitched or high pitched depending upon the situation. There are other types of tinnitus too, where you listen to some continuous sound in your ears. This sound can be slow in the beginning, but it may increase gradually. There are various types of noises that one can hear while suffering with this problem. This problem is commonly called ringing ears. Before we go to treat tinnitus, it is very much necessary to know the exact cause of tinnitus. There are several causes of tinnitus. You can get tinnitus due to hypertension, tumor, blood pressure; any abnormality of the ears can also cause this. There can be two causes at a time to cause the problem of tinnitus. If your arteries or blood vessels are getting constricted, you will not notice them soon. But, after sometime you will get this problem of tinnitus as the blood flow will ultimately affect your ears. Any serious ailment related to your head or ears, specifically too can cause tinnitus. Arteriovenous malformations due to the abnormal arties or veins occurring within the cranial cavity near the auditory canal. So, you get ringing in your ears as a result of this. Inflammation of the middle, chronic inflammation is surely accompanied by increased blood flow to the tissue. Since, this tissue is within ear, so you can hear the increased blood flow.
