  1. Neuromuscular Reeducation Neuromuscular Reeducation is a technique designed by the PTs to train to improve strength, movement, balance and function of your brain, muscles and nerves. Normally we practice or perform one movement for several times or repeatedly, as a result of this the muscles and nerves also learn to act upon a particular stimulus to create a specific movement. This is understood in a general term as a "muscle memory". Any kind of injury to a muscle or to the nerve or surrounding the tissues results in disruption of the neuromuscular activation. Different techniques are used to reeducate and enhance nerve and muscle activation to perform and control a specific movement in Physical Therapy. Also, the same techniques are utilized to improve postural control or improve balance in patients after injury.

  2. Work Hardening & Conditioning Work Hardening is totally a specialized program with a different focus from post-injury therapy. The main focus is to get the worker in work shape to successfully return to their pre-injury job. Practically the primary job functions are simulated in the clinic with indirect supervision from PT. This should be done in a group setting in which each patient is working on their job-specific tasks required to get them back to their professional life. Work Hardening is an ideal way to get a recovered patient back to work at the time of minimizing the potentials of re-injury. Though it is similar to work hardening yet usually it comes before. Work Conditioning is generally performed within the course of post injury therapy and usually contains certain work tasks that have to be performed as a part of the routine therapy treatment.

  3. Mechanical Traction/Spinal Decompression Mechanical traction therapy is a form of decompression that relieves pressure on the spine. It can be performed both manually and mechanically. This traction is used to treat herniated discs, degenerative disc diseases, pinched nerves, sciatica, and many other back conditions. My initial thoughts were how convenient this could be for me. However, nothing could be further from the truth. They did not have the availability to meet the needs of a working professional. Some days I found myself forced to choose between work or therapy. It went as far as me missing meetings just to accommodate these sessions. It was then I learned that therapists were often forced into contingency, where they had to travel between locations just to get steady work. All this travel means less time working with patients like myself, and therefore less convenience for the people who need them most.

  4. LSVT BIG People living with PD or other neurological conditions often move slowly and differently with gestures as well as action. The patients may have sometimes trouble with getting around, getting dressed or other activities of everyday life. LSVT BIG is a specialized treatment approach and an innovative, clinically proven method for improving activity like "small motor" tasks like buttoning the shirt or "large motor" task like getting up from bed or chair or maintaining balance while walking. Everyone should know that the LSVT program has been researched and scientifically developed in the last 25 years with funding from the National Institute of Health. And Research evidence suggests that LSVT BIG can produce significant improvements for people facing considerable physical difficulties. This treatment program also effectively treats and improves motor function of patients with Parkinson's disease.
