TNM Strategic Planning Process • Strategic Intent and Objectives, October – December 2009 • Compile stakeholder questions • Formulate strategic questions • Identify external reviewers • Key themes and business drivers • Draft one of strategic plan, January – June 2010 • Develop internal draft one of strategic plan • Prepare draft one for external reviewers (NGAC and other Federal reviewers) • Finalize draft one • Final draft of strategic plan, June – October 2010 • Develop final draft of strategic plan and review internally • Prepare final draft for external reviewers (NGAC and other Federal reviewers) • Public comment period • Internal review of critical comments and risks • Publish final five year National Geospatial Program plan,October 2010

  4. Issues discussed at the Monday session • Results of TNM questionnaire • Who are TNM’s customers and constituencies? (Challenge: constituencies are numerous and diverse) • Role of federal, state, local governments in providing data and as TNM customers • Tension among TNM roles as providing “foundation” base map, vs. data services, vs. products (e.g. published topo maps) • Tension among “nationally consistent” vs. “best available” vs. “authoritative” data
