  2. Blacksburg Transit • Provides the following regional transit services: • Town of Blacksburg • Town of Christiansburg • Montgomery County / Warm Hearth / Hospital • Commuter Routes from the Town of Christiansburg to the Town of Blacksburg • Shuttles for Sports and Local Events

  3. Blacksburg Transit • Operates fixed, deviated, and demand response • 46 buses in the fleet • Now serves 3.5 million (in 2012) • 90% VT student ridership 5% VT faculty and staff and 5% non-VT riders

  7. TIGGER Grant TIGGER – Transit Investment in Greenhouse Gas and Energy Reduction BT and VTTI are partnering to complete this study on the effects of Dynamic Bus Routing and Scheduling to conserve fuel and provide better customer service.

  8. TIGGER Grant Collect data at stop-level to build a better picture of demand in near real-time. Proactive vs. Reactive - Will be able to predict when additional buses will be needed before the need arises
