  11. Celebrating Success! • S. Celebrating Success! Recognizes successful club projects with the following criteria: • Benefit women and girls or S. as an organization • Innovative and successful • Can be replicated in other communities/regions • Show a measurable outcome or impact

  12. Celebrating Success! AWARD CATEGORIES: 1. PROGRAM: -Global Community (focusing on women or girls) -Environmental projects -Increase awareness about global issues, including war and natural disasters-Human Rights for Women/Girls -Violence -Trafficking -Discrimination

Program Focus Reports P.F.R.s Submitted by SI Corona for 2005-2006: -High School Scholarship Program -Corona Vista High School Scholarship Program -Adult Continuation School Scholarship Program -Intermediate School Students Savings Bonds Program -Riverside Community College Endowment Fund -Financial Assistance to the Settlement House -Carpet Replacement at Children’s care Center at Corona Vista -Financial Support to Alternative for Domestic Violence -Dreams and Decisions Workshop -Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund

Jane Hoffman Soroptimist Emerging Leaders Forum 2007 Designed to enable S. to identify and nurture leadership skills in a group of women who have demonstrated a commitment to the S. mission but have not yet held leadership position beyond the club level. The one-day leadership training will include:-Public Speaking-Conflict Resolution-Running Effective Meetings-Exercising Leadership-Q&A SIA will cover travel and meals for one day, 2 night stay in the hotel SIA President, Pres.Elect and Exec.Dir. Will select one participant from a pool of candidates from each region. Applications due to SIA before Feb. 15th 2007

Club Giving Options 1-Annual Club Campaign: 2007 campaign “Reach for the Stars”-This is a contribution to SIA to help women within federation countries-Clubs donating $500 to $749 will be recognized as a Bronze club-Clubs donating $750 to $999 will earn the club Silver status-Contribution of $1,000 + will give the Gold status 2-Founders Pennies: Celebrated annually on October 3, acknowledging the day of the first business meeting in Alameda County, CA. Each year, every S. is offered the opportunity to make a voluntary contribution of four pennies for each year of S. existence. Recognition is given to each region that has 100% contribution of $3.44 per member. 3-Memorials and Tribute Gifts: Contributing in honor of a valued member’s recent achievement, in memory of a cherished club friend or family member or to celebrate a club anniversary. 4-Laurel Society: Clubs can honor outstanding individuals with membership in SIA’s Laurel Society.

Soroptimist International President's Appeal 2006 • Project Punjab: Helping Girls Into SchoolA project in partnership with Oxfam GB to increase girl's attendance and improve the quality of education in rural, impoverished areas of Punjab Province, Pakistan. • 2.Soroptimist International - 2003–2007 Quadrennial Project • Project Independence:In Partnership with Women for Women International helping Women Survivors of War.-80% of all refugees and displaced persons globally are women and children.-Rape is consciously used as a tool of genocide and weapons of war.-One of six women under Taliban- controlled Afghanistan tried to commit suicide. • Through Project Independence women will have the opportunity to reclaim their lives.
