  14. Messages The nature and magnitude of problems related to landmines in Lebanon are terrifying, don’t spare any effort in relieving our citizens’ sufferings from military conflicts during the past decades. Lebanon is scarred by decades of armed conflict, which have littered and polluted our land with millions of silent dormant enemies, which recognize no seize fire, or distinguish between the footfall of a soldier and that of a girl chasing a butterfly. Injury, Disability and Inaccessibility of affected areas present a drain on families, communities, and the whole country resulting in misery and intolerable social burden, International combined efforts and support helps in relief and endurance. Long after the fighting had stopped, Landmines can maim or kill the children and grandchildren of the soldiers who laid them.
