  3. Examples Brass- made up of copper and zinc Bronze- made up of copper and tin Duralumin- made up of aluminum and copper Steel- made up of iron and carbon

  4. Uses of Alloys • Brass- inexpensive jewelry, piping • Coin metal- coins, electrical hardware • Duralumn- U.S. coins • Nichrome- aircraft, boats, railway cars, machinery • Sterling Silver- jewelry • Solder- joining copper pipes
