  3. College Admissions • 2012-2013 UW Admission Chart • http://www.uwhelp.wisconsin.edu • This sheet is only a guide. Please check each university for their specific admission policy. • All University of Wisconsin System institutions require new freshmen to have completed a minimum of 17 high school credits (one credit equals one year of study). Thirteen of these credits must be “core college preparatory” from the following areas of study: • English 4 credits (Typically Literature and Writing Courses) • Mathematics 3 credits (Algebra and Above) • Natural Science 3 credits • Social Science 3 credits • Electives 4 credits from the following subject areas: English, math, natural science, social science, world language, fine arts, or computer science • World Lang 2 credits are required for admission to UW-Madison and UW-Eau Claire & strongly recommended at the other UW Campuses
