  2. In 2011, women had full rights. • They had been voting, owning land, and had full citizenship for 50+ years. • However, there was still sexism (people believing men were better than women) everywhere, especially in magazine advertisements.

  3. Forgive me not Sean “P. Diddy” Combs released a popular fragrance in 2011 called “Unforgivable Woman.” The ad shows him wrapped around her. This implies that women are only used for sexual purposes and that they should only be with one man for life. If a man had multiple partners, he was not considered “unforgivable.”

  4. Diamonds are a girl’s best friend? This ad implies that women only care about material items. Women were just as smart and accomplished as men, but some people in 2011 thought that they just liked “shiny stuff” and needed a man to buy them nice things.

[…] There’s plenty of women to see, so if your *** doesn’t show up, that’s more women for me Sexism against women did not just show up in ads. This song, by the rapper Ludacris, shows that women were valued for their looks and that men used their bodies as status symbols.
