  2. Aussie Coat Color Case Study Do: Get out a fresh sheet of paper. Put: Write the following title: Aussie Coat Color Case Study List: What do you know about Australian Shepherds? What comes to mind? If nothing comes to mind, write that.

  5. Aussie Coat Colors Do: Read the article and as you read underline information that helps us answer our question. Put: Write any other questions you have about the text in the margin of the paper. Finish By: You have 5 minutes to read and 5 minutes to discuss. When Done: Go around your group and try to answer each other’s questions.

Will we keep breeding the parent dogs if we want Merle puppies? • Do: With your team, discuss the evidence in the case so far and analyze the available data to come up with an answer to the question. • Data Analysis: What genotype is each parent? How can you predict the genotypes/phenotypes produced by crossing Bear x Sapphire? • Put: your team’s decision on butcher paper. • Use “poster” formatting: Title, Question, Answer with your evidence, Next Steps. • When Done: Hang your paper on the white board. Be prepared to present results to the class.
