  3. Reflective Pre-write • If you try to help someone, but it doesn’t help him/her then is it your fault? • If you try to help someone, but he/she doesn’t want your help then should you back off?

  5. Debate • QUESTION: Were the European Conquistadors “helping” the natives? Did the European Conquistadors know “better” than the natives? Explain. • Debate Opinions: • The European conquistadors helped the natives because… • The European conquistadors harmed the natives because… * Each side will have one speaker at a time. We will switch back and forth between a speaker from one side and then a speaker from the other side. Students will receive minimal credit for listening, additional credit for speaking, but the commentary must be of quality – accountable talk.
