MissionThe Center’s mission is to support and facilitate the identification, expansion, and transfer of expert knowledge and best practices in child welfare case practice, direct services, management, finances, policy, and organizational development to child welfare and child protection stakeholders throughout Florida.

Objectives • Ensure consistent information flow to Florida’s child welfare professionals • Enhance efficiencies by creating access and linkages to existing resources within Florida’s child welfare environment • Link customers to resources, innovations, and evidence-based models throughout the country • Enable virtual meetings to replace conference calls and statewide meetings • Facilitate access to high-level national expert consultants for technical assistance to child welfare professionals

User Levels • Level 1 • Access to browse, view, and download documents from Knowledge Base. • View video conferences • Help Desk access to submit questions, view help and FAQs documents • Level 2 • All of level 1 access • Policy Interpretation- ability to submit question and correspond via website to Center staff • Collaboration Portal- browse, view, upload/download documents • Video Conferencing- participate in scheduled conferences • Set up “My site” • Level 3 • All of level 1 and 2 access • Video Conferencing-initiate, schedule, and host meetings • Consultation- access to pre-approved list of expert consultants • Discussion Boards • Level 4 – 5 Steering Committee Members and Center Staff

Collaboration Collaboration Component will be available to Level 2-5 users The collaboration component will serve as an interactive on-line information- sharing portal where peers and experts can interact with each other and share documents. Some of the features of this component will be: • Video teleconferencing • Video streaming of state and national conference presentations • Educational and Training presentations • Topical discussion groups • On-line request for policy development/interpretation by Family Safety Program Office • On-line initiation of purchased expert technical assistance/consultation requests

Access to Website How to get registered? • Each CBC, Sheriff (Protective Investigation Unit), and DCF office has a person assigned as the single point of access (SPOA) for registration. • If you are interested in becoming a user you must contact the SPOA and make a request. • On a regular basis the SPOA will compile a new user list and forward to the Center for input. • Within 1 business day of receipt the Center will add new users to the access data base. • New users will receive an email Welcoming them for being identified as a user. • Welcome email will have case sensitive information for logging in, log-in instructions will be slightly different depending on the user level.
