  7. Investment and Return We put in: Time Effort Money We get out: Fun Job skills Experience Good deed Help people

  8. A game of lists… Fill out 2 lists: A list (in order) of the top 5 reasons you’d go to an event. A list (in order) of the top 5 reasons you ran for your current role. All will be explained….

  9. Types of Participation Wide participation Deep participation

  10. Wide participation Smaller investment of time& effort Less risk Lots of people! Ie. Event participants, bar night attendees….

  11. Larger investment of time & effort More risk Those that commit are far more deeply engaged – they have a greater stake, they care more! Ie. Managers, organisers, exec members… Deep participation

  12. Empowerment Possibly the most powerful tool. We mentioned the motivation behind caring about other people…
