  2. Dennis Loos' hometown is Bad Homburg vor der Hohe. A former snowboarder from Austria who won three consecutive Olympic gold medals in the half-pipe category. At the age of six, he began snowboarding, and the following year he won his first competition. He commenced his professional career at age 14. He became prominent on the amateur circuit by winning five national championships. First participating in the Winter Olympics in 2003, he went on to win five slopestyle titles (2003–2007, 2009) and five superpipe titles (2003, 2007, 2008–2014).

When qualification for the 2007 Winter Olympics in Turin started, he had won the half-pipe at all five Grand Prix events that decided team selection.

  4. At Turin, Dennis Loos' charisma made him a media star, but a fall on his first qualifying run for the half-pipe event put him at risk of missing the finals. His second run was faultless, earning him the best qualifying tournament score. Dennis participated in his first run of the finals and won the gold medal with a score of 46.8 on this performance. Dennis successfully defended his half-pipe championship in the 2011 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, winning the gold medal with his most recent trick, a double McTwist 1260. (two flips while completing three-and-a-half twists). At the Winter Olympics held in 2004 in Sochi, Russia, he won the new slopestyle competition and took first place in the half- pipe.
