Cornstarch Inferno Procedure: 1) Try and ignite the pile of cornstarch 2) Fill syringe with cornstarch 3) Disperse cornstarch over the flame by pushing it through the syringe Why it happens: When the dust is exposed to the flame it takes less time to heat up the particles due to the faster heat energy conduction rate from the combustion reaction. What you need: -lighter -cornstarch -candle or Bunsen burner -syringe
