Intranet – Benefits of Share Point Based Doc-Center • Provide a simple, familiar, and consistent user experience. • Boost employee productivity by simplifying everyday business activities. • Share business data without compromise sensitive information • Enable people to make better-informed decisions by presenting business-critical information in one central location. • Effectively manage and repurpose content to gain increased business value. • Simplify organization-wide access to both structured and unstructured information across disparate systems. • Connect people with information and expertise. • Provide a single, integrated platform to manage intranet, extranet, and Internet applications across the enterprise. • Accelerate shared business processes across organizational boundaries.

  11. Intranet – Cost of Share Point Based Doc-Center • Hardware (cost) • Mid Size new Server (~$3500) • Software • Windows Server Software(Included on new Server) • Share point Software(~$9000) • Windows / Share Point CAL (~$129) – Depends on How many users • Server certificates (~$249) • Labor • Configuration and Implementation new server (~$500) • Configuration and implementation of Share point software(~$2000) • Customization of Share point based on needs ( ~$150 /hour in USA & ~$45/hour Outsource) • Maintenance • Monthly basis (~$???)

  12. Intranet – Implementation of Share Point Based Doc-Center • Hardware & Software Configuration • 2 Weeks Order new Server - Once signed up contract • 1 Week Software Configuration • Share Point Customization • Creating Documentation about Users, Permission • Approve before starts implementation

  13. What is a VPN? • Virtual Private Network • Secure, private connection thru a public network • Encryption and tunneling protocols • Requires sending and receiving ends • Gives users ability to access private network resources • Many different types • Key Features • Greater scalability • Easy to add/remove users • Reduced long-distance telecommunications costs • Mobility • Secure communication between Server and Client (256 encryption)

  14. What is needed? • Existing hardware (Servers, workstations,…) • Internet connection • VPN - Router/Switch • Software to create and manage tunnels • Security Device such as firewall

  15. Why Use a VPN Connection? • Different types of threats continue to increase - security • It’s available and supported • You can connect from anywhere and be ensured you have a secure communication channel back to Hotels • It’s supported across multiple platforms • Extends the hotels network to remote users

  16. How Connection works Without VPN ? • Vulnerable to several security threat agents • Loss of privacy – Passwords, packet sniffers, clear text • Loss of data integrity – modified transactions • Identity spoofing – impersonations • Difficult to secure

  17. How Secure Connection work with VPN ? • Protected secure communication channel • Encrypted data prevents exploits • Provides authentication • Can connect from anywhere • Easier to secure at resource side

  18. BPR Remote Access Through VPN • Hardware • New Files Sharing Access Server • Uses existing Cisco Firewall (try to use existing other wise will change) • Software • VPN Client Software (~$129) • VPN Licenses (Included) • Labor • Configuration of Cisco Firewall (~$2500) • Configuration of each client (~$99) • Maintenance • Monthly basis $???

  19. VPN – Implementation Schedule • Hardware & Software Configuration • 1 Weeks Order new Server - Once signed up contract • 1 Week Firewall Configuration and Testing • VPN Client Software installation • Depends on Numbers of Clients • 5 Clients per week including Desktop & Laptop

  20. Centralized Time clock • Hardware - New Time clock server Entry level • Install WAN based clock link on server – Verified with Time force tech support • Connect all Clock by Public IP address • Automated Punches download to Server • Automated backup feature for Punches

  21. Team Resources • PSM Tech, LLC • Narendra Patel • Technical Lead • Rajesh Patel • Technical Lead • Tejal Patel • Technical Lead • Location • Greensboro • Support & outside services • Online meeting( Fastsupport.com) • Cell Phones • Office phone
