Overview and Amendments for PIRC Architecture in 802.17c Standards

This document details amendments to various clauses of the PIRC (Protected Inter-ring Connection) specification within the 802.17c architecture framework. It provides an overview of the key components including the MAC service model, frame formats, topology discovery, and OAM (Operations, Administration, Maintenance). Critical enhancements include the definition of control frames used by PIRC, load balancing principles, and failure detection protocols. Additionally, it addresses the requirements for spatial awareness and the introduction of specific MIBs for PIRC management, ensuring robust inter-ring communication and reliability.
