  2. George Orwell's Early Life    • Born in Bengal, India in 1903. • At the age of one moved to England with his mother and sisters. • His family was not very wealthy. He later described his family as  "lower-upper-middle class." • When he was young his parents could not afford school fees so he won a partial scholarship at St. Cyprians School • He despised the school and went on to write an entire book about his time there. •  as a teen attended Eton College as a kings scholar.
