  4. Central Idea The effect of human activities on the climate.

  5. Lines of Inquiry Consequences of climate conflict 2. Strategies used to resolve climate conflict 3. Causes of climate conflict.

  6. Key concepts and related questions • Change- How is the climate changing? • Causation- What is the cause of climate change? • Responsibility- What is our responsibility on climate conflict?

  7. What is climate conflict ?

  8. What do you notice in these pictures?

  9. What do you notice in these pictures?

  10. What is Climate Change? The world’s climate is changing quickly. The changes will have an impact on our planet Earth’s people, ecosystems, cities, and energy used by us.

  11. What is the difference between weather and climate?

  12. Is there a connection between human activities and climate change?

  13. Chart of two billionyears of climate change

  14. What do scientists predict in terms of climate change? Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) In 2014, the IPCC published a series of scenarios ranging from “business as no actions taken” to “aggressive actions taken” to reduce climate change.

  15. Possibility of climate change in the future

  16. How fast have emissions grown in recent years? Emissions of greenhouse gases have grown at an accelerating rate in recent years.

  17. What is Greenhouse Gasses? • Greenhouse gases trap heat from our Earth and make the planet warmer. • The largest source of greenhouses gases from human activities is in the United States. • They are burning fossil fuels for electricity and heat.

  18. Example of Greenhouse Gasses These are the examples of primary sources of the greenhouse gases: •Electricity production: it produce and generates the largest effect of greenhouse gas. •Transportation: it comes from burning fossil fuel for our cars, trucks, ships, trains, and planes. It is not very good for our body and for greenhouse gases.

  19. Pictures of Greenhouse Gasses Greenhouse gases in cars. (effects air pollution) Greenhouse gases in factories.(effects air pollution) All greenhouse gases around the world

  20. What is global warming? • Global Warming is the effect of greenhouse gases. • The activities that the human activities have made is burning fossil fuels or deforestation. • Carbon dioxide and other pollutants are in the atmosphere of the earth. • It is trapping the sun’s heat from causing global warming.

  21. Examples of global warming effects

  22. Now we will show you a Video about what is global warming and greenhouse gases.
