  2. What is Conflict? • Conflict is a problem that needs to be solved by the main character, or characters. • There are several different types…

  3. Man vs. man • In this type of conflict, characters struggle against each other. Example: Harry Potter & Voldemort

  4. Man Vs. Himself • Character’s struggle is internal (not visible) – a struggle against character flaws, for example. Example: Hope struggling with her identity and wanting to belong.

  5. Man vs. nature • Characters struggle for survival against the forces of nature. Example: Twister http://youtu.be/wKSIdx11DnE

  6. Man vs. society • Character struggle against social rules or laws, usually shown as unjust Example: Katniss vs. The Capitol (The Hunger Games)

  7. Man vs. god • Characters struggle against God. Example: Death of Jesus At three o’clock, Jesus cried out with a loud voice, ‘EloiEloi , lemasabachtani?’ Which means, ‘My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?’ Mark 15:34
