  1. The justification for my application to the position of head boy and the responsibilities that this entails Denis for head boy

  2. My abilities • Due to my experiences and ideological inspiration, I have developed a strong tendency to let my opinions be known, with the position of head boy I hope to channel students ideas about the functioning of the school, and give them a the required force to be heard. • Having to several other schools I hope to utilize my gained experience from them to potentially bring something new. • I am known to be direct, honest, trustworthy and pragmatic, I see these as some of the most important traits in an SLG leader and thus I see myself suited for the role. • I have looked up to sixth formers for much of time in education, to be in that position making decisions and working in a team to influence the school, influence which might even last past us leaving Roundwood in year 13 would be for me tremendous and I fully aspire to serve that role in utmost function.

  3. The importance of the SLG • It is invaluable as it provides a direct link to students, indeed the members of the SLG are after all surrounded by fellow students daily which is the greatest strength of a SLG and is something one has to play to. • My wish is to act upon this and involve students in the decision making and actions of the SLG more. • There is of course also (among other things) the image of the school aspect which I see as a great success that has already been achieved and I would want to continue this and perhaps even expand further into the community. • Overall I wish to continue the successes of the SLG and the work done for the school while taking more feedback from students.

  4. Thus my policy… • Providing a realistic and exact action is somewhat futile at this point however I do have general ideas on what is to be done. • My foremost aim is to make the SLG more rooted with students, I would like there to be a constant flow of ideas and comments from students. • Why is this important? This is vital as from this it is possible to formulate ideas and actions which are useful and relatable to students because the SLG is there to help the school and arguably the most important aspect of that is: the students. • Additionally, clubs is something I have not always considered useful but having gone to several I see them now to be a real asset in bringing a fun and developing opportunity. So I am committed to continuing such things as debate club and assessing the potential for their expansion.
