  12. practice your reading! Good manners are very important in the communication of daily life. Everyone likes a person with good manners. But what are good manners? How does one know what he should do and what he should not do when trying to be a good—mannered person? Well, here are some examples. A person with good manners never laughs at people in trouble. Instead, he always tries to help the person. When he takes a bus and sees an old man or sick man, he always gives his seat to him.

  13. Ideas of what are good manners are not always the same in different areas. For example, people in western countries usually kiss each other to show their greetings, while in China, kissing may be something of unusual and sometimes is impolite to somebody else. So it is important to know what is polite and impolite before you go to a country. But remember that it is always right to be kind and helpful to others.

  14. Homework • make dialogues about good manners • in public, at school… • 2. Search more information about good • manners in different countries.
