Although she retired in 2014, she taught high school students with a focus primarily on literature and history for several years. Even though she no longer teaches, she is still active in the lives of youth through sports programs, and she cares deeply about student development. She also volunteers regularly at the community center near her home. She worked in a number of school districts throughout New York, and she still enjoys viewing works of art at the major museums in the area.

Debra Purcell-Regis always encouraged an active classroom discussion when she was teacher. She enjoys being able to help students learn on their own and from their peers because it helps young minds retain information more easily. Her students enjoyed taking her class, and learning from such a great role model.

She primarily taught history and literature, but was known for teaching some other subjects as well. She cares deeply about the development of youth in her community and the rest of the world, and she does what she can to stay involved. She has been enjoying her retirement, and has become very active in fantasy sports. Not only does she manage several teams, but she also helps other players develop strategies.

She also volunteers for the community center in her spare time.
