  1. How to Conduct a Background Check on The Person You're Dating

  2. In today’s way of living and modern technology, conducting a thorough or comprehensive background checkis a must.

  3. Searching for an honest and dependable individual to enter a relationship with is hard and complicated especially if you just found the name of the person through online dating sites or social networking sites.

  4. It is a good thing to perform a background check on a person, before interlacing your lives together.

  5. You can hire a background screen company to do the investigation, or you can do it by yourself.

  6. On the other hand, if you conduct a background check with yourself, you will not be able to access all the relevant details that a private investigator or a background checkcompany has access to.

  7. Follow these guidelines on how to do a personal background check on the person you’re dating:

  8. Visit the website for your local police department and sheriff. Enter the person's complete name or if not any other names he or she may use.

  9. It would more helpful if you know some other basic information like birthdate or address. Go to the state's department of corrections website and complete the similar search.

  10. Check for name of the person at the property evaluator's web site and the tax collector's websites. If you cannot find their database online, you will need to visit the recording office and the tax office to look for the assets and tax listings.

  11. Verify for business guides at the Secretary of State's office. There are several searches, including but not restricted to business possession filings that can be done, usually online, at the Secretary of State's office.

  12. Validate the name at the Clerk of Court. Most clerks can now be contacted online. You will need to verify the various branches of the clerk-circuit court, criminal court and probate court.

  13. If the court records cannot be located online, you will have to visit to the clerk's office and ask a search on the person's name. You will have to pay extra charges for the processing of the documents

  14. Check similar records in other countries or States, if you are aware that this person transferred to your state within the past ten years.
