  3. Ancient Egypt had 3 important time periods. • Old Kingdom – had strong government and built pyramids. 2700-2200 BCE • Middle Kingdom – period of reuniting after years of chaos. Achievements were made in literature, art, and architecture. 2040-1633 BCE • New Kingdom – Egypt’s Golden Age – a time of peace and stability 1558-1085 BCE • Egypt became very powerful and increased trade and built gigantic monuments.

  5. In addition to the splendor of the Great Pyramid, an exciting ancient wooden boat was found sealed in a pit at the base of the Great Pyramid. • This boat was buried in pieces and has since been reassembled, restored and housed in a climate controlled museum over the site of the original pit.
