Religion • Church of England -felt that the church had to go through way too much reform and left for America • God -the bible was their true law -they believed working hard and being blessed with money that was an honor to God and you -they worked for the after life and hard work would lead you to a prosperous after life

  3. Community • They built communities including only Puritans and followed everything under God • If you could not follow the rules you were forced out of the community or forced to convert to a different religion • Had their own politicians and members in different positions with in their area • Were exclusive

  4. Shaping the Community • They had their own system because it created a healthy economy • They were able to politically look at issues with a closer eye and concern • They had their own school systems so they could teach whatever they chose too • They wanted to further create America as an advanced country and achieved it by focusing on studies and creating an intellectually better community • Were self sufficient

  5. Education • Taught through the bible • Wrote poetry, religious in content • Learned to speak Latin • Studied literature • Opened their first school in 1635 called Roxbury Latin School • Where the first to write books
