Text 20-22 aham ätmä guòäkeça sarva-bhütäçaya-sthitaù aham ädiç ca madhyaà ca bhütänäm anta eva ca ädityänäm ahaà viñëur jyotiñäà ravir aàçumän marécir marutäm asmi nakñaträëäm ahaà çaçé vedänäà säma-vedo 'smi devänäm asmi väsavaù indriyäëäà manaç cäsmi bhütänäm asmi cetanä I am the Supersoul, O Arjuna, seated in the hearts of all living entities. I am the beginning, the middle and the end of all beings. Of the Ädityas I am Viñëu, of lights I am the radiant sun, of the Maruts I am Maréci, and among the stars I am the moon. Of the Vedas I am the Säma Veda; of the demigods I am Indra, the king of heaven; of the senses I am the mind; and in living beings I am the living force [consciousness].

Opulence of Krsna described. • I am the Supersoul – Purusha incarnations – thus He is the beginning, the middle and the end of all beings. • Of the Ädityas I am Viñëu – 12 Adityas – amongst them Vamana is most celebrated. • Of lights I am the radiant sun. • Of the Maruts I am Maréci. • Among the stars I am the moon – moon is declared as star. • Of the Vedas I am the Säma Veda. • Of the demigods I am Indra - the king of heaven. • Of the senses I am the mind and in living beings I am the living force [consciousness].

Text 23-25 rudräëäà çaìkaraç cäsmi vitteço yakña-rakñasäm vasünäà pävakaç cäsmi meruù çikhariëäm aham purodhasäà ca mukhyaà mäà viddhi pärtha båhaspatim senänénäm ahaà skandaù sarasäm asmi sägaraù maharñéëäà bhågur ahaà giräm asmy ekam akñaram yajïänäà japa-yajïo 'smi sthävaräëäà himälayaù Of all the Rudras I am Lord Çiva, of the Yakñas and Räkñasas I am the Lord of wealth [Kuvera], of the Vasus I am fire [Agni], and of mountains I am Meru. Of priests, O Arjuna, know Me to be the chief, Båhaspati. Of generals I am Kärtikeya, and of bodies of water I am the ocean. Of the great sages I am Bhågu; of vibrations I am the transcendental oà. Of sacrifices I am the chanting of the holy names [japa], and of immovable things I am the Himälayas.
