LECTURE/INTERACTIVE SESSIONS LECTURE CUM INTERACTIVE SESSION ON SEXUAL HARASSMENT OF WOMEN AT WORKPLACE A lecture cum interactive session on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace with specific reference to the provisions made under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013 was organized at the Seminar Hall of Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College, on Friday, 17th July 2015.  The speaker for the session Mr. K N Agrawal, who is Coordinator, U.P. Building and Other Construction Welfare Board Lucknow; and retired Asstt.Labour Commissioner, Govt. of U.P. presented various aspects of the Act and explained its provisions that need to be complied with.

  4. INTERACTIVE SESSION ON DESTRUCTIVE POTENTIAL OF SOLAR PV & ELECTRIC VEHICLES. A Guest Talk was conducted at ABESIT on 11th September 2015 by Prof. (Dr.) KailashSrivastava on the topic “The World in 2030 and the Disruptive Potential of Solar PV and Electric Vehicles”. Prof. (Dr.) KailashSrivastava is a power system professional with well-rounded experience across various sectors around globe viz multinational company, government (Indian Engineering Services), consulting organization, research and educational institutions. He works as Adjunct Professor to Lulea Technical University in Sweden and IIT Kanpur. Senior members from Corporate members of GMA, and Faculty & students of ABESIT attended the session.

  5. LECTURE CUM INTERACTIVE SESSION ON SKILLS AND ATTITUDE REQUIRED FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP • An interactive session on entrepreneurship for students was organized on 28th October 2015 at AKGEC seminar hall. In this session Mr. S M Mittal, MD. SukritiVidyutUdyog Ltd. made the students aware of the advantages of becoming an entrepreneur and skills required to be developed within oneself to become successful. This was attended by about 200 students from different colleges. • GMA will organize further follow up sessions with those students who get serious on becoming an entrepreneur and will do necessary hand holding and provide the required guidance.

  6. SESSION ON INTEGRATED PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM through SUPER LEARNING TECHNIQUES A program on super learning was organized in Rotary Bhawan, Gandhi Nagar on Monday, 16th November 2015, conducted by Mr. Sanjeev Gupta, an expert trainer in the field. • Skilled in highly effective Brain Enhancing Skills, Memory techniques, Super learning, Whole brain thinking, Time &Stress Management leading to a much better Quantum of & Speed of Learning • Mr. Gupta showed, through live demonstration, that anyone could develop the skill of sharp memory, only if he is made aware of how to learn along with knowing what to learn.

  7. INTERACTIVE SESSION ON SELF EMPOWERMENT BY Dr. S J RAO Guest Lecture on "Self-Empowerment" was organized in association with Sunder Deep Group of Institutions organized on 21st December, 2015 for the students of BBA, BCA, BA LLB and the Resident Engineering students. The speaker on the occasion was Dr. S J Rao, who, for the last three years is engaged in providing Solutions to SME segment in the area of Growth & Future Management.. The presentation of Mr. Rao was very informative and exhorted the students to empower themselves and also explained them how they could achieve success in their goals.

  8. LECTURECUMINTERACTIVE SESSION ON HOW TO MAKE ‘VANPRASTHA’ STAGE OF LIFE ENJOYABLE AND FULFILLING. An Interactive session on how to celebrate and make ‘vanprastha’ stage of one’s life enjoyable and fulfilling was organized on Tuesday, 15th March 2016 at the Rotary Bhawan, Gandhi Nagar in which the speaker was Jivasu (Dr. Pradeep Kumar), teaching Naturality Meditation Programs in Canada and Rishikesh, India. He is facilitating mind-body medicine and acupuncture training courses for health professionals in McMaster University, Canada. The talk focused on explaining that Vanprastha is the stage of exploration and adventure and how one should smoothly and consciously travel from the Grihashtha to Vanprastha stage of life. 

  9. MANAGING MODERN BUSINESS WITH ANCIENT INDIAN WISDOM A lecture cum Interactive session on Managing Modern Organizations using Ancient Indian Wisdom was organized on Friday, 29th April 2016 at IMS LalQuan, and the resource person was Mr. SumitChaudhuri, Chairman & Managing Director, Third Millenium Business Resource Associates, New Delhi. The speaker was contacted courtesy AIMA. He organized his presentation on a modular approach wherein he took one activity at a time, of managing Modern Organization and he explained how ancient Indian wisdom as in Mahabharat, Ramayan and Upanishads is applicable as a resource to manage the activity.

  10. TRAINING PROGRAMS / WORKSHOPS/MDP’S WORKSHOP ON AUTOMATION TECHNOLOGIES Two days’ workshop on Automation Technologies was organized on 12-13th October, 2015 at Centre of Relevance & Excellence (CORE) at Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College, Ghaziabad to acquaint the aspiring engineers with the conceptual as well as practical knowledge of the Industrial Automation & latest technologies used in industrial automation. The workshop was divided into four sessions: • Industrial Robotics & Automation • Fluid Power Technology • Test, Measurement & Control • Identification, Sensorics and Additive Mfg. • There were 24 participants from the Corporate members of GMA and some were nominated by CII. .

  11. MDP (Operations and Material Management) A two-day Management Development Programme on Operations and Material Management, was conducted in association with AKGIM on November 26-27, 2015. Participants, were from senior and middle level production and operations department of organizations like Continental Carbon, Shriram Pistons, Albert David Ltd., Urban Feel Organization, MEPS Packaging & Wares and many more. The program focused on developing skills for and developing appropriate strategy for building synergy between materials and operations functions in an enterprise.

  12. Achieving Excellence Through Stress Management A half day program was organized on 22nd January for middle team leaders which provided suitable inputs to them and assist them in managing their stress for improving productivity. It was explained that stress is inevitable in today’s world. The only way to lead a healthy and happy life is to understand stress and equip oneself with stress coping strategies. This program was conducted by Dr. AmitaSrivastava, Director of Brencis Group and her team. The Objectives of the program was to enable the participants to Identify Stress; Resolve & dissolve stress; Feel more energized; Improve problem solving and decision making; and Increase work effectiveness. There were a total of 20 participants from 7 organizations who were from the middle and senior management cadre in their respective organizations.

  13. WORKSHOP ON YOGA FOR JOYFUL LIVING • A program on YOGA FOR JOYFUL LIVING was organized on Sunday, 6th March with Association of Himalayan Yoga & Meditation Societies International (AHYMSIN*) ABES Engineering College. • As we are getting busier by the day, we are getting more and more stressed and in our day to day life, we are seeing situations turn into problem and finally into a crisis. Only a calm mind can see situation as a situation and deal with it accordingly. This was the genesis behind organizing the • The facilitators were: • Dr. Manju Talekar, a medical graduate from Lady Hardinge Medical College and a trained pathologist; RabindraSahu, a Registered Yoga Teacher; and Mr. Ram Prakash, an accomplished yoga and meditation teacher. • The program described scientifically based on medical principles, how proper postures, breathing etc. are beneficial to our health. Thereafter, Mr. RabindraSahu explained the correct style of breathing, standing, sitting etc. along with the principles of natural advantages of these postures. This was followed by practical demonstration and practice session of various yogasanas.

  14. WORKSHOP ON LEAN MANUFACTURING One Day Workshop on Lean Manufacturing   was organized in association with Department of Mechanical Engineering, under stewardship of EDC, and T&P Department, BBDIT on 11th March 2016 by in the Seminar Hall of the Institute. The workshop was conducted by Quality Council of India (QCI), New Delhi(Ministry of Commerce & Industry) and Ministry of MSME, Government of India. • Mr Sridhar of Quality Council of India, explained in detail the philosophy of Lean manufacturing; scheme of lean manufacturing as pronounced by Ministry of MSME, GOI; and benefits that could accrue to industry. • Apart from 21 members from industry, 12 faculty and 24 students participated in the workshop.

  15. MDP on "Digital Marketing“ Two-day Management Development Program on "Digital Marketing” was organized in association with AKGIM at their campus on April 12-13, 2016. The program revolved around understanding the consumers in the digital space, and developing digital marketing strategies for acquisition and retention of customers. It emphasized on developing skills and competencies concerning digital marketing. The session on Content Marketing was facilitated by Mr. HemantBisht, founder of Orange Cube Consultancyand a session on Social Media by Dr. Maupriya Gaur. The day ended with a session on Integrating Digital Interfaces by Prof. Namita N. Kumar. MDP also covered Website Intelligence & ROI and on Search Engine Optimization; and finally the session ended with a session on Online Identity and Reputation. • There were 20 participants, from the area of marketing and advertising, Both, senior and middle level, from organizations like Micromatic Grinding Technologies Ltd., Ghaziabad Precision Products (P) Ltd., Continental Carbon India Ltd., CHW Forge Private Ltd., BHT Digital, SPA Web Solutions and many others. took part in the program.

  16. ACHIEVING EFFICIENCY FOR IMPROVING PRODUCTIVITY A one day program was organized for middle level managers/ team leaders to provide suitable inputs to them on elements of improving work efficiency leading to higher productivity. This program was conducted at World Square Hotel, Mohan Nagar Crossing, Ghaziabad, on Friday, 20th May 2016 THE GENESIS OF the program was on the premise that HUMAN RESOURCE IS THE GREATEST ASSET of an organization – PROVIDED IT PERFORMS; otherwise it is the greatest liability. It is far more critical than Money, Material or Machines. In today’s competitive environment every company is looking for ways to enhance the quality of human capital so as to improve their productivity and ultimately boost the company’s bottom line. Therefore, it has become one of the most important tasks for an organization to achieve excellence through work efficiency and the ability to be more productive. Dr. AmitaSrivastava, of Brencis Group, the facilitator took the participants through the various nuances of achieving work efficiency and thereby, productivity leading to excellence of the organization. We had 32 participants from 13 industries of Ghaziabad.

  17. COMPETITIVE ACTIVITIES SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROJECT PRESENTATION • Ghaziabad Management Association and Department of Management Studies of ITS Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized Summer Internship Project Competition “ Anubhav -2015” September 26, 2015, . The objective of the program was to provide a platform to the budding managers to share their first hand experiences, learning and ideas gained during their almost two months association with corporate in recent past. More than 70 participants from various management Institutions of NCR, UP, Haryana, Uttaranchal Senior Faculty from ITS and other Institutions and Industry experts were judges for the competition. • The winners were awarded with certificate, cash prize of Rs.5000/-, Winning Trophy from Parle and Gift Hamper from Bagrrys each. The Best Project Prize to overall winner was of Rs.20000/- cash, Winning Trophy, Certificate and Gift Hamper.

  18. SCROLLS (Student Creative Oratory Learning Skills) AKGEC, in association with GMA organized its annual NATIONAL LEVEL TECHNICAL PAPER PRESENTATION contest - SCROLLS 2015 (Student Creative Oratory Learning Skills) on 23rd October 2016. Using innovation as the central theme for the event, SCROLLS could be described as an art of perceiving the world in a different light, which can bring laurels to the conceiver as well as bring about a general upliftment in the society. On invitation to all budding technocrats, in a team of two to three members, to present a technical paper in any one of the Engineering domains or in the Management domain,over 1000 entries from renowned institutions like IIT ROORKEE, IIT DELHI, DTU, MNNIT, NIT ROURKELA,MMMUTGLA MATHURA, ABES-EC GHAZIABAD, etc. were received. 322 synopses were shortlistedout of which, 118 teams were selected to present their final paper, on the day of the main event. The winners were felicitated during the annual convention of GMA with Cash prizes totaling to Rs. 54000/- along with certificate of excellence.

  19. CHANAKYA A two day workshop in form of Management Simulation Business Game called “CHANAKYA” was organized on 24th & 25thFebruary 2016 at AKGIM campus. This game was conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA). Business Game ‘Chanakya’ is a simulation game where teams of four persons each are made to represent the decision makers of a company. They are required to take the most profitable decision for their company under the dynamic circumstances and vagaries created to simulate the actual business scenarios that can prevail. 8 teams from management cadre of member Industries and faculty from Management Institutes participated. The team from NTPC was declared winner and the team from International Tobacco Ltd. was the runners up. Dr. R K Agarwal, President, GMA and Director AKGEC, gave away the winner and runner up Team trophies to the participants. Individual prizes for winner and runners up will be given away during the valedictory function of the Annual Convention, later this year.

  20. INTER COLLEGE MANAGEMENT FEST ‘TEJAS 2016’ Department of Business Administration of ABES Engineering College, in association with Ghaziabad Management Association , organized an Inter College Management Fest ‘TEJAS 2016’ on 15th-16th March 2016. Students from about 40 institutes from Delhi NCR participated in various competitions held at the fest. The main focus of the event was on encouraging intelligence and creativity through formal and informal events like Summer Training Project Competition, Ad- Mad Show, Business Plan, Debate, Group Dance, Rangoli, Photography, Business Cartoon Making, Documentary Making Competition and so forth. The event was totally organized by the students with help of the Institute wherein they got a chance to explore their organizing ability and working in teams, which is one of the prime skills required by industry. The events provided students a platform to showcase their diverse talents.  The winners of various competitions were given the prizes. They will also be felicitated in the Valedictory session of GMA convention.

  21. MANTHAN 2016 – RKG BUSINESS QUIZ Ghaziabad Management Association and the Department of Business Administration of Raj Kumar Goel Institute of Technology organized a Business Quiz for Under Graduate students of Colleges in and around Ghaziabad at its campus on April 26th 2016. Around twenty teams from various colleges participated in the quiz. The event was inaugurated by Mr. DevendraSwaroop, Ex General Manager of BEL inaugurated the competition. Initially, there were two rounds of written tests through which teams were eliminated to leave seven teams for the final two rounds of oral quizzing. The final rounds were very exciting with Buzzer round, Rapid Fire round, Rounds on visuals and on audio quizzing. Finally, The team of students from MMH College, Ghaziabad were declared winners and The First & Second Runners up were the teams from IMS, Ghaziabad.

  22. OTHER PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES ANNUAL GENERAL BODY MEETING OF GHAZIABAD MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION The 32nd Annual General meeting of GMA was held on 24TH July at Hotel Mela Plaza, Ghaziabad. This was attended by a good number of members comprising leading Industrialists, Academicians, and senior officers of organizations in this area. Representative from AIMA, New Delhi and of the press were also present in the meeting. ShriAmitAgarwal, the Hony. Secretary shared the GMA activities during the year and CA Shri Anil Agarwal, the Joint Secretary (Finance) shared the salient features of the GMA Audited accounts of 2014-15. These were accepted as adopted and appreciated by all present. Since the tenure of the existing office bearers was over, a new body was elected. The new council comprises of the under mentioned: • Dr. R K Agarwal President • Mr. V K Dubey Sr. Vice President • Mr. AmitAgarwalHony. Secretary • Mr. Anil Agarwal, CA Treasurer

  23. BLOOD DONATION CAMP As a part of the Social responsibility, a Blood Donation Camp was organized at RKGIT PG Campus on 29th September ’15. This social initiative taken jointly by Ghaziabad Management Association, RKGIT (MBA) and it was facilitated by the Rotary Club. More than 400 people including students and faculty donated blood. The event was organized with the objective ‘Serve the nation and Save community’. It was organized to serve the noble cause of saving the lives with valuable contribution of blood donation. The Volunteers who had donated their blood were a given a certificate from the Blood Bank and Issued a Blood Donation Card along with their Blood Test Report.

  24. “PRESS SE CHARCHA” ON THE UNION BUDGET 2016 Ghaziabad Management Association organized a Press conference on 2nd March 2016 at Hotel Mela Plaza, Raj Nagar, Ghaziabad, in which the Treasurer, Vice Presidents and its other senior members from Industry, Institutes and independent professionals such as Chartered Accountants, etc. shared their views on the budget. The press conference was attended and covered by about 12 newspapers.

  25. INDUSTRY VISITS As part of Industry – Academia interface and in order to give opportunity to students for industry exposure, several Institutions such as RKGIT Group of Institutions, Krishna Engineering College, Vishveshwarya Group of Institutions, R D Engineering College etc. for the conduction of Industrial Visits. After co-ordinating among the above mentioned Industry members & Institutions the following visits were conducted in the month of April 2016 1. The visit of Krishna Engineering College students was conducted in Carbon Continental India Limited, Ghaziabad in the month of April, 2016. 2. The visit of Vishveshwarya Group of Institutions was conducted in Ghaziabad Precision Products (P) Ltd. in the month of April, 2016. 3. The visit of Mechanical Engineering students of ABES Engineering College was conducted in Carbon Continental India Limited, Ghaziabad on 24th April, 2016

  26. 26TH NATIONAL CONVENTION ON “MAKE IN INDIA – OPPORTUNITIES & STRATEGIES” Ghaziabad Management Association organized its 26th National Convention at Country Inn & Suites, Sahibabad on 21st November 2015. The theme was “Make in India – Opportunities & Strategies”. Prof. K. K. Aggarwal, Chancellor, K. R. Mangalam University, was the Chief Guest.In his inaugural address, he focused on the ethical behaviour required for development of the economy. He discussed “Make in India” idea cannot be a success only by thinking. Vigorous efforts are required to make it successful. Mr. Sameer Nagpal, CEO Refractories, Dalmia Group was the Guest of Honour and The keynote speaker was Mr. Sharat Jain president & Co- Founder, Rechargeitnow.com. They all motivated the youth to nurture the concept of “Make in India” for the sustainable development for Indian economy and to join hands and work in unity and that India should take advantage of global slowdown and develop its infrastructure and manufacturing sector;

  27. 26TH NATIONAL CONVENTION (Contd….. Technical Session 1 was on “Innovation in Engineering and Manufacturing”. The session Chairman was Mr. V.K. Dubey, MD Continental Carbon India Ltd. The Distinguished speakers for this technical session were Mr. Ravi Aggarwal, Director, Pepperl Fuchs., Mr. Pradeep Nair, Director, SLM Solutions, GMBH, and Mr. Pradeep Sharma, AGM Kuka Robotics. Mr. Pradeep Nair enlightened the delegated about the additive manufacturing. He illustrated about futuristic process and the pros & cons of additive manufacturing in various product designing for e.g.: concept design and functional design. Mr. Ravi Aggarwal discussed the stages of development with respect to India. He believed in Make in India and delivered the concept of Smart Manufacturing which included by important industries. Mr. Pradep Shoran, AGM Kuka Robotics talked about the Robot Based Automation. He discussed about the new Robot which has a special feature of sensing line of activity and reproducing the same activity? He focused on the need Human Robot Collaboration because of demanding tasks that require the same degree of repeat ability.

  28. 26TH NATIONAL CONVENTION (Contd….. The technical session 2 was “Entrepreneurship & Skill Building in High Technology Areas”. The session Chairman was Mr. S.M. Mittal, Director SukritiVidyutUdhyogLtd. The distinguished speakers for this technical session were Mr. AnupWadhwa, Director AIA, Delhi, Mr. S Dhanabal, Academic ProgManager National Instruments. Mr. Rajat Gupta Founder & CEO, TESSOL Ltd and Ms. JuheeGarg, Director Oyster Connect.com. Mr. AnupWadhwaenlightened the issues that Information Technology+ Indian Talents will be the face of tomorrow. He talked about e-kranti leading to village. Mr. Dhanabal discussed about the skill building process and how they need to be upgraded for a better future of industry. He stressed on the student – faculty engagement with live projects of the industry. Ms. Garg emphasized on the virtual platform for skill development and how it could be useful without waiting for actually reaching the work area. Mr. Rajat Gupta spoke about the skills required for becoming an entrepreneur and emphasized on adding value to the product and to be sensitive to the environmental effects of his product.

  29. 26TH NATIONAL CONVENTION (Contd….. During the Valedictory Session, the Chief Guest was Lt. Gen. A.K. Agarwal, PVSM. He discussed the role of technology and communication the growth of economy. He believed that “Right to Broadband” can change the face and pace of the Indian economy. He discussed the road map given by our prime minister “IT+IT=IT”.(Internet Technology + Indian Talent = India Tomorrow) Thereafter, at the end of the convention, the winners of various competitions like SCROLLS and CHANAKYA were awarded prizes by the Chief Guest.

  30. ANNUAL FAMILY GET TOGETHER OF GMA Annual Family Get-Together was organized on January 10th at Hotel Mela Plaza, Raj Nagar, to bring maximum number of members and their families together to know each other better and to welcome the new year. About eighty families participated in this event. During this function, the special activity was releasing of the maiden issue of the Directory of GMA Members by Dr. R K Agarwal, President and other senior members of the Association Games and other events, Lucky Dip, playing of Housie, Ramp walk by couples, individual performances of children and ladies and couples, and light music singing etc. were the focus of entertainment for the members and their families and they enjoyed thoroughly.

  31. GMA FUNCTIONING SURVEY CONDUCTED BY RKGIT – SUGGESTIONS BY RESPONDENTS Conduct periodic meeting with prominent guest speakers on corporate or managerial themes. Knowledge base of the members by frequent interaction with corporate professionals Timing : Off days or in the evening hours Involvement of members : feedbacks / suggestions through E-mails Diversity in the GMA activities Layout of the content of the sessions for preliminary study

(Added during this year 01 Nos.) • INSTITUTIONAL MEMBERS : 32 Nos. (Added during this year 04 Nos.) • INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS : 270 Nos. (Added during this year 12 Nos.) • Presented for the kind perusal, information and adoption by the members of Ghaziabad Management Association on 25th June 2016 at Hotel Fortune Inn Grazia, Sanjay Nagar, Ghaziabad.
