  2. Distinguishing between b & d • Many students have difficulty differentiating between the lowercase “b” and “d”. • Most children would rather just keep writing down the capital “B” and “D” for they are easier to make and identify.

  3. A method that helps is when the student holds up their two hands in a “thumbs up” position. The two hands are then put together with the teacher giving the cue, “Don’t forget to make your bed .” • Some students may only need to put up their left hand for the “b”. b e d

  4. Another good idea is to have a “Bb” on one side of their name plates & a “Dd” on the other. • Bb dD
