The New Deal, initiated by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt after the 1932 election, aimed to combat the Great Depression through sweeping reforms. Implemented mainly during Roosevelt's first 100 days in office, it included the Emergency Banking Act, the National Industrial Recovery Act, and the Federal Emergency Relief Administration, among others. These measures sought to restore confidence in banks, regulate the stock market, provide employment, and support farmers. The Second New Deal introduced further protections for workers and established social security, reshaping American society.
