I Finally Started My Weight Loss Journey And It Completely Changed My Life. I have never been a skinny girl, but I was also never a big girl. It was not until I graduated from high school that I started gaining weight. It was 10lb, then, 15, 20, and by the time I was 23, I was 100 pounds overweight. Of course, I was aware that I was gaining weight and would go into “diets” for a month or two but then would forget about it, and let’s say that what I thought of a weight loss diet back then its nothing compared to what I know now. I used to think that diet was eating salad all day, and now I know that there is so much great healthy food out there that I can eat and still be healthy. Once I was 220 at only 5ft tall and struggling to breathe at night, I knew something had to change. So I started small, I got up early every morning and started walking 45-1hr daily (I hated my appearance so I would go early or late when no one was there). I started cutting junk food out, and I would go great for a week or two, but then I would literally attack it and felt disappointed in myself and felt like I would never accomplish my weight loss goal and would stop for a few days then would get back on track. The only difference was that this time I was more consistent, and I would get right back up even after giving up 3-5 times a month. The 1st two months were miserable, mainly because I was used to eating any time not because I was hungry but because it was there, so why not? This weight loss journey was a mental game, and once I got used to it, it was easier and easier. I stepped on the scale, and 10lbs were gone, then 20, then 30, my goal was to be at 160, but once I reached that goal, I wanted more and more. I was able to get to 110/115, but it was too small, and I looked fragile, so I started weight training, I was afraid at first especially because I was gaining weight but was still fitting my clothes (it was muscle
weight). I formed healthy habits – I learned how to eat right, and I have been able to maintain my weight despite people telling me that I was going to gain it back plus more, I proved them wrong. Now here I am, I live an active life and eat super clean 90% of the time, who knew I could enjoy a healthy lifestyle (I love it!!). The key to healthy living is never to give up!!
