What is International Baccalaureate? • The International Baccalaureate (IB) is an international educational foundation which was founded in the year 1968. • Diploma and Certificates are awarded once the course is completed. • There are total of 63 Primary Year, 221 Middle Year and 108 Diploma Programs in India with 128 Schools providing the IB Degree.

  3. 4 educational programs that IB Offers • IB Diploma Program (16-19 Years age) • IB Career related Program (16-19 Years age) • IB Middle Year Program (11 to 16 Years age) • IB Primary Year Program (3-12 Years Age)

  4. IB Diploma Program (16-19 Years age) • This two year educational Program provides an international qualification into higher education which is recognized by many universities worldwide. Internal and external assessments are conducted and the results are calculated on the basis of how the student scores in both.

  5. IB Career related Program (16-19 Years age) • The IB Career-related program (CP) is for all the students who wish to engage in career related learning. This program overall develops the students as their main aim is to make the students internationally minded and culturally aware. Students are assessed both internally and externally.

  6. IB Middle Year Program (11 to 16 Years age) • This Program lets the student to learn and decide about the streams like Art, Science, Design, etc and also gives the tool to identify the best stream for them. The program runs for 5 years although shorter program for 2, 3 or 4 years can be adopted with the permission from IB. Students are assessed both internally and externally.

  7. IB Primary Year Program (3-12 Years Age) • It prepares the students for all the challenges that they will face in future. It overall develops the students both inside and outside the classroom. Every student has to learn a secondary language during this program. Strategies are carried out by the IB board for the assessment of the students with respect to the guidelines.

Recognition Of IB in India • A number of colleges and Universities give provisional admission to the students from IB board on the basis of predicted grades as the result of their final examination are announced in the month of July. • In India a student from IB board can take in admission in top Indian universities like: • Delhi University, • Mumbai University, • Christ University, • Amity University, • Manipal University, • NMIMS University, • University of Pune, • Ashoka University Etc.
