Many of us opt for this quick and easy fix solutions all the while completely forgetting that these solutions can have adverse affect in the long run. You don’t have to be an athlete or a sportsperson to sprain your ankle or suffer from a ligament tear. It might happen that you were wearing high heels when you twisted and fell and in the process suffered from a ligament tear. Fading of the muscle and ligament tear is often associated with plantar fasciitis. In commoner’s language, we are talking about heel pain. If you suffer from a sharp, knife like insertion on your feet the moment you take the first steps after getting up in early morning, it means that you are suffering from plantar fasciitis. And you have to make sure that you heal this otherwise in the future your condition will worsen and you will start to limp as well. There are some common home remedies that you can try out any time. We have discussed some of the easier ones here. To begin with, you can use an ice pack and place it below the heel and under the arch. This will help to smoothen the inflammation. You can also alternate between hot water and cold water bath. What you need are two tumblers – one should have hot water and the other should be filled with cold water. Now put your feet in the hot water and immediately follow it up by putting your feet in the cold water. Repeat this process for 10 to 15 minutes in order to get the desired results. If you don’t want to do this, then opt for over the top counter pain relief capsules. This will provide immediate relief but the effect is short term. The pain will return after sometime. Wear comfortable shoes with proper soles that support the arch of your foot. Avoid wearing heels, as they will put unnecessary pressure in the front and back of the feet. Shift to flats or sneakers for a comfortable walking experience. You should opt for mild exercises like brisk walking and swimming. Avoid jumping, running or jogging as they will put pressure on the heel and the ligament might tear further. If you sit idle for long periods of time and then get up to walk, you will feel a sharp pain so avoid sitting for long periods of time. Instead opt for different types of physical activities throughout the day. If the pain still persists inspite of trying out these home remedies for more than 6 months, then you need to visit a good doctor and get yourself thoroughly checked. Opt for all the checkups and X-Ray that the doctor has suggested. Show the reports and the findings to the doctor so that he can suggest the next course of treatment. If he suggests
