  3. THE MAIN MESSAGE to display the trends of movement in production and knowledge to competing regions within and outside The European Union. METHODOLOGY THE PROJECT WILL make USE of an extensive literature review. indicators WILL BE OBTAINED from relevant databases such as Eurostat, World Bank, UN and OECD. Data from the European Patents Office will be used to provide regional statistics about patents. ESPON Project – Work Package 2.3.1 and 2.3.3

OBJECTIVES WE NEED TO ANALYSE: - THE SPATIAL KNOWLEDGE SPILLOVERS oVER EUROPE - THE POSITION AND TRENDS OF THE EU COUNTRIES IN THE GLOBAL FLOWS OF KNOWLEDGE - THE HIGH VALUE GOODS IMPORTS OF THE EUAND HIGHLIGHT THE INTRA/EXTRA FLOWS WITHIN EU ESPON Project – Work Package 2.3.1 and 2.3.3
