Cad and Drafting (Semester 1) • Reverse Engineering Project • Sketching Fundamentals • Orthographic Projection, Auxiliary View, Section View, and Dimensioning basics • Use of 2D CAD System • Modeling basics and basics of modeling drawing environment
Semester Two • CAD Fabrication & Assembly with Prototype Metal Fabrication • Trigonometry • Advanced 2D CAD • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing • General Physics
Cad Semester 2 • Specific to the mechanical field • Topics include section views, intersections & developments,sheet metal developments, welding drawings, design and working drawings, and conventional dimensioning & tolerancing • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing is a 2 credit stand alone course.
Semester Three • Materials Science (metallic and non-metallic) • Strength of Machine Members • CAD - E.C.D. • CNC Mechanical Design • Solidworks Advanced
Core Courses (Semester 3) • Strength of Materials. Force analysis, vectors, applied algebra & trigonometry. • ECD. Electrical drawing on CAD. Use of symbol libraries, customization, automation of drawing processes. • Solidworks. Advanced modeling, assemblies, sheet metal, loft & surface, molds & dies • CNC. 2 & 3 axis, file importation, mold making
Semester Four • Design Problems • Mechanisms (motion study) • Written Communications • Race & Ethnic Diversity • Fluid Power (hydraulics & pneumatics) • Elective
Core Courses (Semester 4) • Design Problems. Group project designing a device. Application of other core courses. • Mechanisms. Graphical kinematics: Study of displacement, velocity, and acceleration of machine elements; cam design.
