Quadratic Formula: Solving Unfactored Equations Easily

Learn how to solve quadratic equations that can't be factored using the quadratic formula. Find the x-intercepts of the function, also known as the "zeroes." Example: F(x) = ax^2 + bx + c.

  1. Quadratic Formula

  2. Solving quadratic equations that cannot be factored • If a quadratic equation cannot be factored we have a formula to solve it. • The answers we get for the quadratic formula are the x-intercepts of a quadratic function. X-intercepts are also called the “zeroes” of a quadratic function.

  3. Example • F(x) = ax2 + bx + c
