Arguably the greatest achievement of the Vikings was their boat and ship building. The Vikings were not the first people to build ships but they did build the best ships anyone had made up to that time. The long ship is part of the popular image of the Vikings.

  1. Arguably the greatest achievement of the Vikings was their boat and ship building. The Vikings were not the first people to build ships but they did build the best ships anyone had made up to that time.The long ship is part of the popular image of the Vikings.

The Viking spear was probably their most popular weapon. • The greatest of Viking weapons • was his sword • It wasn’t as expensive as a sword, and was still very deadly.  • It usually had a wide, double-edged blade, was between 70 and 80 centimeters long. • They were very dangerous thrusting weapons, and they could also be thrown.  • Swords were thought so highly of that many Vikings named them. 

  3. There are many more Viking gods but here are three • Odin was the god of wisdom • Thor was the god of thunder • Frey was the god of weather

  4. Viking didn't wear helmets with horns on them they wore helmets like this

  5. Women baked bread. They did spinning and weaving to turn sheep wool into cloth. They looked after the children, made the family's clothes and cooked the two meals a day most families ate. On the farm, women milked the cows and made cheese.

  6. Viking children did not go to school. They helped their parents at work, and learned Viking history, religion and law from spoken stories and songs, not from books. By 15 or 16 they were adult. It was common for a girl's father to choose her husband.

  7. Viking houses Most people lived on farms. Farmers used iron tools, such as sickles and hoes. They grew oats, barley and wheat, and ground the grain to make flour, porridge and ale. Vikings grew vegetables such as onions, beans and cabbages. Their farm animals included pigs, sheep, goats, cattle, geese and chickens.

  8. Vikings were not only terrific fighters they were also boat builders, amazing fishermen. They also made weapons and did lots of farming as well as a lot of eating .

  9. Women didn't go and fight they did house work Vikings mainly raided monks Vikings didn't were helmets with horns!!!!!!!!

  10. The Vikings came from the countries which we know now as Denmark, Norway and Sweden. This is where the Vikings invaded
