  2. Steps of the PPA • Define the Problem • Gather the Evidence • Identify the Causes • Evaluate an Existing Policy • Develop Solutions • Select the Best Solution (Feasibility vs. Effectiveness)

  3. The Culminating Project Choosing the right multimedia format to get your information across. • iMovie • iPhoto • Garageband • Animoto

  4. Creating a Storyboard • You must first create a “storyline” for your multimedia project. • Storyboard #1 • Storyboard #2 • You must include all 6 parts of the PPA in your storyline and project. • Once yours is approved, you are ready to use the technology.

  5. How to Convey Meaning with • iMovie • Choose powerful pictures • Keep clips to 4 seconds • Make your transitions smooth, not distracting • Add music which enhances the message • Add your voiceover last

How to Convey Meaning with • iPhoto • Choose powerful pictures • You will make a book from iPhoto which will be made into either a PDF book or a slideshow. • If you make a slideshow, the music should enhance the message. • If your book contains a lot of writing, you should import into iMovie where the clips can be more finely timed and allow for voiceover.

  7. How to Convey Meaning with • Garageband • Using Garageband, you will choose between an audio podcast or a video podcast. • Examples of podcasts. • Create your music first. If you choose to do a podcast with several episodes, you will need intro and exit music, along with correlating pictures. • Podcast music should be your “brand” showing distinction that this is your show. Think of jingles and music which begin on familiar news shows.

  8. How to Convey Meaning with • Animoto • Choose powerful pictures • Animoto is easy to use and will do most of the work for you. Just follow the steps. • Add music which enhances the message.

  9. Don’t get lost in the technology • If you prefer to work with visuals, you should choose Animoto or iPhoto • If you like to create music and do voiceovers, you should choose Garageband. • If you prefer to incorporate pictures, music and writing along with spending a lot of time on editing, you should choose iMovie.
