  2. FY 2004 End of Year Status (National): • Approximately 76% of country covered (44 states) with 85% of funding • 160 reports & publications • Released V 2.0 of the National Field Guide

  3. Annual FIA Fieldwork Status, 2004

  4. Availability of State FIA Data, November 2004 Age of the most recent data available to the public in online FIA databases.

  5. FY 2004 End of Year Status (National): • Tested and presented the utility of approximate coordinates for mill studies and biomass. The results demonstrated the utility of the publicly available coordinates to deliver valid analysis. • Implement a final protocol for vegetative diversity as a final test where funding permits. • Core FIA data loaded into FSVeg.

  6. FY 2004 End of Year Status (National): • Involved in numerous cooperative projects: • Fire risk and treatment opportunity analysis. • Insect and disease risk mapping. • National land cover mapping. • National, regional assessments. • Applications of NASA technology.

  8. FY 2005 Status (PNW): • 61 % of Region implemented • Coastal Alaska, California, Oregon, Washington, FSM • 80 % Funded ($3 million increase in FY06) • Consistent field manual for AK, CA, OR, WA • Extensive QA of NIMS compilation process & review by States.

  9. PNW-FIA FY 04 goals FINISHED: • Include P3 Veg in WA & AK • Load Regional data into NRIS • Review volume equations & standardize • Publish State Reports (OR, Guam, A. Samoa) • Publish CA Oak Woodlands, SOD, CA Forest Products Industry

  10. PNW Goals for FY 04/05 • Started/In Progress: • Increase efficiency of inventory – Lidar, etc. • Continue Riparian pilot work w/ ODOF • OR Mill Survey • Conduct Utilization Studies • Make BioSum into user tool

  11. PNW Goals FY 05 • Delivery of inventory data 6 months after field season • Set up work for Oregon 5-year Report • Continued delivery of periodic reports – Washington, CNMI • GNN Mapping for Oregon
