    4. Purpose of Victim’s Assistant works to ensure the rights of victims are met provide various services to victims and their families. associate victims with helpful resources

    5. Crime Victim’s Compensation financial assistance program that helps eligible victims of crime with certain expenses related to the crime “the payer of last resort” after primary sources of payment such as health insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, auto insurance or Texas Workers’ Compensation.

Services Provided crisis intervention criminal justice support court accompaniment acquiring protective orders information and referrals assistance in filing for Crime Victims' Compensation notification of case status serve as liaisons between victim, legal system, hospitals, schools, and other support systems assist with evidence return

Duties & Responsibilities Use City of Bryan’s Public Safety Records System to read police reports Use Judicial Records Search Read arrest reports to verify victim’s eligibility Contact with victims: phone calls/in person/mail Help victims file out the Crime Victim’s Compensation application Fax information to Austin

Application Process In-person interview Bring: Resume letter of recommendation letter of interest driver’s license social security card Dress business casual During the interview: File out Bryan Police Department's Program Application Sign the Dissemination of information form A Background check will be done
