This module introduces the fundamental concepts and components of geospatial data, exploring their roles, values, and contributions. Learners will gain insight into the history and significance of these components in supporting the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI).

<component overview> • A listing of the <NSDI Topic> key components and a description or graphic as to how the components relate.
<individual component descriptions> • Explanation of each of the <NSDI Topic> key components and its: • role • values/character • contribution
<Summary> • Reinforcement of the key components and the specific way in which they support the NSDI.
<Format: bulleted items> • When using bullets: • Capitalize the first letter of the bullet • do not capitalize the first letter of secondary bullets • Do not use periods or commas between bulleted items • Keep the text simple; provide details in the Notes field • Be consistent: • start each bullet with either a noun, verb, or adjective • apply the same tense when using verbs
